As a small business, you’re probably aware even more than ever of having an marketing strategy and online presence is a must. Whether that’s you as an individual or for your products and services you sell. But do you understand why you need to be continually pumping out content on your website and social media, or are you just doing it because of recommendations?

whats content marketing

Why is it important to keep refreshing your copy and produce keyword-friendly campaign-driven projects?

Well, the whole focus is to become number one on what you do in the virtual world. You’re aiming when you create a website and your social media accounts for them to become the to ‘got to‘ place when it comes to what you know and what you sell.

So you have a website, and you spend money on AdWords and newspaper adverts – so why do I need to spend time on content marketing?

It’s not what Google is looking for and will mark your website down if you’re not playing by its rules. I guess it’s good in a way. As we live in a world full of so much media, 80% of it is rubbish. Google is sorting through all the rubbish content and only serving the cream of the crop.

To get to the top of Google, Google wants to see a busy website that’s continually getting fine-tuned, cared for and has content updated regularly. By improving your website’s content, whether that’s the technical side or, more importantly, the content side. You will get moved up the rankings.

As well as having a website that looks modern, user-friendly and mobile-friendly. Google wants a genuine effort to give the viewer everything they need to find what they are looking for.  Read what Google has to say>>

Suppose your business goes out of its way and writes content that’s enjoyable to read and informative. Then that’s a win-win for the reader and the company that’s involved. If your business sounds wishy-washy and doesn’t sound confident, then it won’t rate well, unfortunately. You can spend all the time on your websites’ technical side and SEO, but your business content doesn’t sound focused and confident. It will fall when it comes to Google rating you.

On the positive side, spend some quality time on your content and regularly update your pages and blog. Content marketing can be a critical way to improve your organic visibility, boost impressions, and drive traffic while also securing SEO-friendly links and coverage in target publications.

If you also spend time conducting campaigns, you can then involve social media in your pages and increase your traffic, virtual positioning, and leads. It will also be a great way to get your local newspapers interested in you, who may choose a particular campaign to mention in their articles. It’s a win-win situation!
